We were thrilled to host and display our community art exhibition at The Old Bank Studios in Harwich.
The event launched with a private view and awards ceremony on Friday 24 May 2019.
This gave us the opportunity to thank all our contributors who produced such wonderful artwork in response to the Official Imperial War Museum War art which was also on display.
All of these artworks were made and shared by local volunteers. What a really talented group of people they are!
The exhibition was the culmination of a series of events and workshops that have run since the full IWM exhibition- Anchorage- in November 2018.
Talented local artists, including a series of contributions from local organisation Teen Talk, shared their own interpretation of the U Boat surrender in 1918.
The event was visited by over 150 people across the Bank Holiday weekend and we had some wonderful feedback.
We also once again displayed the wonderful U Boat Pennants made by local volunteers in 2018 for the Willow U Boat that is still to be found on Harwich beach.
Thanks once again to all who contributed and visited the show.
